Localstuffs is a partnership of three local boys that live on and love Kauai.
Their ideas and talent merged to become this website. We all live on Kauai
(Kekaha and Kapaa) and all work at our regular jobs. This website is the
fruition of many nights and weekends of hard work doing the research and
writing code. We didn’t quit our regular jobs because we are not doing this
website strictly for the money, as you can see from the small and few fees
we charge, we really wanted to make something that could be useful for the
local resident, to help them make a little extra money selling things they
normally couldn’t on the internet, and maybe pass on a little useful information
at the same time. And so and Localstuffs came to be.
Localstuffs is an idea that came like most other good ideas, out of necessity.
In this age of Internet commerce, selling through classifieds and other printed
or broadcast media is slow and frustrating. It seemed only natural to sell our
extra stuffs over the Internet. After all, you can sell anything over the Internet,
right? Right, so long as you live on the mainland where shipping is cheap! In Hawaii,
especially Kauai, the freight you are charged is almost as much as the item you ordered.
So if you wanted to sell on Ebay or some other auction house, you were limited to items
that were small and worth enough to cover the freight charges attached.
So the problem became how to add the speed of the Internet to selling the kinds of
stuffs that could only be sold locally. The solution became Localstuffs. We love
Kauai and hope you love this web service. We are very open to your comments and
input. We want Localstuffs to become a helping hand to everyone who uses it. Let
